Pastor Larry Lewis and his wife Louise

On January 5th, 1972, Larry Lewis became the pastor of Potters Church in Cave-in-Rock, Illinois. Although other pastors came before him, it was during his pastorship that Potters removed itself from an organization and became the church it is known as today.

After becoming pastor, he saw a move of the Holy Spirit in that little country church that no one had experienced before—a move that was ignited from a willingness to seek God for direction. By allowing God to have control of the service and use him as a vessel, many lives have been impacted through Larry’s calling.

Pastor Larry has always said, “I’d be lost if it wasn’t for my wife.” Sister Louise stands by his side every day and graciously supports him in serving the church.

It is because of these two and many other supporters that Potters Church is a thriving force in our community. Many ministries have been birthed and many pastors have been called from Potters, all benefiting greatly from the leadership of Larry Lewis. For their service, we are grateful.
